Interesting but stupid thought
I had this crazy thought. I seems we talk about how much technology costs us and libraries all the time but have we seen the prices on books and periodicals. And though safe with paperbacks in some areas it doesnt mean much. Its just one more thing that has changed our world. Can most kids go out and buy a book easily no. This makes the library even more needed. I know costs have to go up, but when its something you enjoy it makes a tug of war to decide what is best to do. Libraries money has dwindled while cost all over have grown and sometimes it seems like we must spend the money on technological things rather than the old library book. Costs are the giant tug of war. No easy solution.

Unsure but interesting
I have unfortunatly have not read a lot of technology articles that deal with libraries lately. Even so I continue to wonder how libraries and society in general can rely and know goods uses for technology. Technology changes fast or faster and it only works if there is a human and then it is not guarnteed. Some how technology has gained our attention and has convinced us it the greatest thing. Libraries have to struggle in deciding what to include and what can they afford. I think this is an issue in other areas. I also sometimes think that the markting convinces we need the product even though we know its to expensive and we dont have the money we have to have it. Technology is an interesting beast.

Interesting Thought
As technology as become a big part of our lives some have wonder if electronic will replace print. I have had descussions on this several times. Though electronic has some benifits it also has some problems just like print when it is put up electronic. At this point I dont think that print is going to go anywhere and sometimes it just depends on the context and situation it is being used. This change could do things to libraries that we have only started to look at. I dont think we will come to a winner any time soon of whats better.

1st Post
This blog was created for a technology course in graduate school. I have never participated in a blog or anything like it. This should be interesting learning experience.
